Confidentiality and Ethics

We understand that privacy, trust and professional integrity are essential in therapy. At Yellow Scarf Support, all sessions are offered within a confidential, respectful and ethically grounded framework.

Confidentiality in therapy

What you share in therapy is treated with care and discretion. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of the therapeutic relationship, helping to create a space where you can speak openly and feel safe to explore difficult thoughts, emotions and experiences.

When confidentiality may be limited

There are, however, some important limits to confidentiality. In rare situations where there is a serious concern about your safety or someone else’s, or where there is a legal obligation to disclose information, your therapist may need to take appropriate action. Wherever possible, this would be discussed with you first.

Professional standards and supervision

All members of our team work in line with recognised professional and ethical standards. Our therapists practise within the scope of their training and experience and are committed to ongoing professional development.

Clinical work is supported through regular supervision, which helps ensure safe, reflective and responsible practice. Supervision is a standard and essential part of ethical therapy, and any information shared in supervision is treated confidentially and professionally.

Our commitment to ethical practice

We are committed to offering therapy in a way that is respectful, non-judgemental and sensitive to each person’s individual circumstances, background and needs. We aim to provide a therapeutic space built on trust, professionalism and genuine care.
