Frequently Asked Questions
If you are considering therapy, it is natural to have questions. Below you will find answers to some of the most common questions about starting therapy, sessions, confidentiality and practical arrangements.
If you cannot find the answer you are looking for contact us and we will be happy to help.
Starting therapy
Therapy may be helpful if you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, stuck,
emotionally exhausted, or if you are struggling with relationships, stress,
loss, trauma or life changes. You do not need to be in crisis to seek support.
Many people come to therapy simply because they want to understand themselves
better, feel more balanced, or make sense of what they are going through.
Choosing the right therapist is an important part of the process. Consider
what kind of support you are looking for, whether you feel more comfortable
speaking Polish or English, and whether you would like to work with someone
with experience in a particular area. If you are unsure, we can help guide
you towards a therapist who may be a good fit for your needs.
The first session is an opportunity to discuss what brought you to therapy
and the kind of support you are looking for. It is also a chance for you to
ask questions, understand how the therapist works, and decide whether the
therapeutic relationship feels right for you.
You can contact us to arrange an initial consultation or ask about available
therapists. We will help you find the most suitable therapist based on your
needs, preferences and availability.
Sessions and practicalities
Most individual therapy sessions last 50 minutes. Couples therapy may be
longer depending on the therapist and the type of work involved.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. In some cases, sessions may take
place fortnightly or follow a different arrangement depending on your needs
and circumstances.
This varies from person to person. Some people come for a small number of
sessions focused on a specific issue, while others choose longer-term therapy.
