Psychologist | Psycho-oncologist | Psychotraumatologist
Magdalena supports adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, bereavement, life crises, chronic illness, cancer-related emotional difficulties, relationship challenges, stress and burnout, offering integrative psychological support tailored to each client’s needs.
My name is Magdalena Lisiak, and I am a psychologist, psycho-oncologist and psychotraumatologist. I am also continuing to develop my professional skills and am currently training to become a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist and a Simonton therapist.
I support adults who are coping with difficult life experiences, including life crises, chronic illness, cancer, bereavement, trauma, anxiety, stress and low mood. I also offer support to people living with cancer or chronic illness, as well as to their loved ones, helping them navigate the emotional challenges connected with illness, treatment, uncertainty and change.
Thanks to further studies in suicidology, I also support people experiencing suicidal thoughts, self-harm, emotional crisis, difficulties with regulating emotions and feelings of emptiness, guilt or shame.
In my work, I aim to create a safe, accepting and respectful space where clients can explore their emotions, regain a sense of agency and look for new perspectives. I believe that every person has inner resources that can support them in coping with challenges, even in very difficult circumstances.
On a personal note, I was diagnosed at a young age with Stargardt’s disease, a genetic condition affecting central vision. Coming to terms with this diagnosis was a long and demanding process. The support of my loved ones, together with finding new purpose and meaning, played an important role in my journey. This experience has shaped my sensitivity as a psychologist and strengthened my belief in the importance of acceptance, agency, hope and support.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and tailored to the individual needs of each client. I draw on different methods, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Rational Behaviour Therapy, depending on the person’s situation, goals and emotional needs.
I see the therapeutic process as a shared journey, where the client is an equal partner in looking for solutions, understanding difficulties and building meaningful change. My work is based on respect, acceptance and the belief that even in challenging moments, it is possible to reconnect with one’s strengths, values and sense of direction. There are no visible appointments at the moment, but you can still get in touch and we will help you find a suitable time.
