Psychotherapist
Supports teenagers 13+ and adults with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, and the effects of painful life experiences.
I am a psychotherapist working with young people aged 13 and above, as well as adults, who may be struggling with emotional difficulties, anger, low self-esteem, relationship problems, stress, anxiety, depression, or a sense of feeling lost.
I completed my psychotherapy education with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Bedford College. I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
In addition, I hold a Master’s degree in Education from the Pedagogical University in Kraków.
My specialism is working with young people and parents. I offer sessions in both Polish and English, which often makes communication easier for younger clients.
I have extensive experience in working with adolescents, and I understand that this stage of life often requires a more creative and flexible therapeutic approach.
I am also familiar with the challenges related to the British education system, identity development, social and peer pressure, and the impact these can have on the whole family.
I continue to develop my professional skills in areas such as self-harm, working with autistic clients, and creative approaches in therapy.
In my work as a psychotherapist, I place great value on the therapeutic relationship, as it is the foundation of meaningful and effective therapy. I aim to understand each client’s unique, subjective world as fully as possible and to meet them with care, empathy and respect.
I work in the person-centred approach. The client often knows best what is happening within them, even when they may feel confused or overwhelmed.
My role as a therapist is to support a deeper understanding of the self and to offer a different perspective when needed. I take an active role in therapy, helping clients explore the questions that trouble them and move towards greater clarity and self-awareness.
The main areas of my work include helping clients understand difficult and overwhelming emotions such as sadness, anger and confusion, as well as identifying problems that affect mental health.
I support clients through difficult life events such as bereavement, separation and work-related stress. I also work with people experiencing low self-esteem, negative self-image, isolation and emotional distress.
I support young people facing difficulties at school, including bullying and problems in peer relationships. Part of my work includes supporting parents who are struggling in their relationships with teenagers and helping families better understand what may be happening emotionally and relationally.
I also work with neurodiversity, including ADHD and autism spectrum, and I have experience supporting survivors of sexual abuse. My practice also includes working with young people and adults who struggle with self-harm and suicidal thoughts.
